Time Allocation and Economic Contribution of Women in Fulfilling the Basic Needs of Poor Households

The primary purpose of this study is to explore the time allocation and economic contribution women in fulfilling their families’ basic needs. This research used a qualitative approach applied observations interviews as data collection technique. sample consisted 25 people, including 23 stone-breaking women, who have family, 2 village heads, whose areas contain stone-mining enterprises. obtained was analysed qualitatively, implying that processes collection, reduction, display, verification were carried out simultaneously. results show respondents allocate more household chores than work. However, through activities stone breaker, homemakers do make significant family’s income. Indeed, sole reliance on husband’s income head family cannot be sufficient for only serves maintain survival family.
